No shocking result in a game when second ranked BelgianKortrijk (17-4) crushed at home 11th ranked Dutch Leeuwarden (11-11) 109-52 on Sunday. Kortrijk dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden 's 32 and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Leeuwarden only scored five points from the stripe. Kortrijk forced 26 Leeuwarden turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. Kortrijk looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Leeuwarden 's players. It was an exceptional evening for Slovenian Leon Stergar (193-2000) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 4 assists. Point guard Sean Pouedet (188-2003) accounted for 11 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Kortrijk players scored in double figures. American power forward Jack Hemphill (208-1999, college: SFC) came up with 8 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Matt Frierson (188-1997, college: Citadel) added 9 points respectively for Leeuwarden in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kortrijk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-4 record behind leader Oostende. Leeuwarden lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with ZZ Leiden.
